With the support of the community, Hospice of the Valley's Dementia Care and Education Campus is an innovative and comprehensive resource for those living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. The Campus provides full-spectrum care for persons living with all stages of dementia and support for their families. A 12-person Assisted Living Center, a 10-person Hospice Inpatient Care Home, an Adult Day Center, and a Child Center provides superb and creative person-centered care, and a Community Education Center educates and inspire physicians, nurses, social workers, caregivers, families, and the community to improve quality of life for persons living with dementia.

**Position Profile**
The Activities Coordinator uses their unique art form, talents, and interests such as visual art, woodworking, music, dance, theater, storytelling, poetry, creative writing, history, etc. to create and facilitate interactive and instruction-based classes to develop interpersonal skills, reduce depression, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and enhance cognitive, social and physical abilities in older adults experiencing cognitive and physical challenges.
**Responsibilities**
+ Working closely with Dementia Care and Education campus Life Enrichment Coordinator to help plan and coordinate participant engagement activities for the Adult Day Club and Child Center.
+ Promotes collaboration between staff and volunteers with participant engagement.
+ Provides additional support to participants.
+ Promotes positive/effective volunteer and staff relationships.
+ Utilizes resources effectively and efficiently.
+ Adheres to scope of practice/HOV standards and facilitates continuously improved processes/services.
+ Maintains and enhances professional skills.
+ Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Knowledge in the care of persons living with dementia.
+ Talents, Passions, or Interests in one or more areas such as: Visual Art, Woodworking, Music, Dance, Theater, Storytelling, Poetry, History, etc.
+ Dementia experience preferred.
+ The passion and ability to teach others in a group and individual setting.
+ A contagious, interactive and charismatic personality.
+ Positive interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Organizational and self-management skills to effectively handle multiple responsibilities.
+ Strong planning, execution and problem-solving skills.
+ Must have current DPS clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bilingual skills a plus.
+ Minimum of 1-years of experience with dementia population.
