Overview:

The Associate Medical Director will collaborate with a team of physicians, including the Chief Medical Officer and other Medical Directors, to ensure the safety of blood donors, the quality of blood products, and the excellence of laboratory and patient services. The role offers ample opportunities for professional growth, involvement in clinical research, and leadership in complex medical operations such as Therapeutic Apheresis, AABB-accredited IRL, and FACT-accredited cell therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Associate Medical Director must lead medical and clinical operations for blood donation, blood product manufacturing, and lab services.
• Collaborate with national experts in blood medicine, public health, and product development.
• Oversee therapeutic apheresis programs, research, and community health initiatives.
• The Associate Medical Director must support educational and scholarly partnerships with the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center.

Qualifications:

• The Associate Medical Director must hold an MD or DO
• Must have 10+ years of experience as a Medical Director or Fellow in a regional blood center or hospital blood bank
• Must have experience with clinical or AP/CP Pathology, Hematology, or related specialty
• The Associate Medical Director must have a fellowship in Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine.
• Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and computer skills.
• Must be willing to work on weekends/ holidays, as needed.
