Job Description and Duties

Under the administrative direction of the Chief Deputy Inspector General, the incumbent directly oversees and manages the Office of the Inspector General's (OIG) Staff Misconduct Monitoring Unit's staff who monitor and review California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) investigations. The incumbent formulates and sets policy for the administration of the Office of the Inspector General's monitoring of CDCR internal investigations and employee discipline cases resulting from grievances filed by incarcerated persons. The incumbent interfaces with department executives and other stakeholders and is responsible for overseeing the production of public reports related to the OIG's monitoring of incarcerated persons grievances. The incumbent directly supervises Attorney Supervisors and Deputy Inspectors General, Senior. The incumbent regularly travels to CDCR institutions throughout the State of California; various stakeholder offices; and Office of the Inspector General regional offices. The incumbent completes work on special projects and special reviews and completes other duties as assigned.
