Job Summary

Baristas prepare and serve a variety of delicious 'We Proudly Serve' Starbucks coffee, tea and other beverages for Sun team members at its cafe, while ensuring to provide prompt, quality customer service. They ensure the beverage bar is clean and sanitary, paper products are stocked, and assist in various areas of the office as needed.

Job Duties

  • Greets team members and takes orders; prepares and serves Starbucks espresso, coffee, tea and other beverages, as well as various food offerings, in accordance to established service standards. (Essential)
  • Cleans, sanitizes and maintains beverage bar area, including counters and equipment. (Essential)
  • Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed, including dating and monitoring expiration dates. (Essential)
  • Ensures consistent product availability by keeping adequate inventory; communicates shortages as necessary. (Essential)
  • Stocks and replenishes food, beverage, paper products and utensils as needed. (Essential)
  • Efficiently serves team members by being knowledgeable of offerings.
  • Receives, unloads and distributes delivery orders.
  • Arranges and maintains food offerings within the pastry case.
  • Assists with various administrative duties including ordering products, organizing stock room, coordinating vendors, etc.
  • Performs shift opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Researches and resolves quality and service complaints and/or issues, escalating those that need further resolution to supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 6 months in Previous experience in a barista role; Starbucks experience strongly preferred (Required)
  • 1 year in Previous experience in a customer-facing role (Required)
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Professional appearance
