New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) research facility, is recruiting a Deputy Director, Psychiatric Research Institute (DDPRI) to serve as the Chief Medical Officer/Clinical Director.
Under the general direction of the Director of NYSPI and in close collaboration with other facility executive staff, the DDPRI is responsible for the administration, oversight, evaluation, and continuous improvement of all psychiatric and medical ancillary services provided by NYSPI staff and consultants. This includes the research inpatient and outpatient units, the Washington Heights Community Service (inpatient and outpatient units and the First Episode Psychosis Program), the Adult Residents’ outpatient clinic, and the Children’s Day Unit. NYSPI is an OMH State-operated research facility at which world-renowned Research Scientists conduct research in biomedicine, neuroscience, experimental therapeutics, clinical interventions, and mental health services relevant to patients with mental illness. Since its inception, NYSPI has been at the forefront of psychiatry, making major contributions to the clinical care and understanding of individuals with mental illness. Located in Manhattan overlooking the Hudson River and George Washington Bridge, NYSPI provides a state-of-the-art environment for patient care, education, and research. The Institute is also the primary location of research and education activities for the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and is affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital.
