Job Description

Job Title: Compensation Analyst

Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid – 2 days remote after training; must be onsite Wednesdays)

Contract Duration: 18+ Months

Pay Rate: Up to $50/hour

Industry: Open – All industry backgrounds welcome

Job Summary:

A well-established organization is seeking a Compensation Analyst to support its Human Resources function. This role will focus on analyzing compensation data and benchmarking salaries, ensuring alignment with internal structures and compliance with applicable labor laws. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of compensation frameworks and market analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform external market benchmarking and salary analyses
  • Create and maintain job descriptions and structured job frameworks
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and the Talent Team to deliver actionable insights
  • Utilize service management software to document contacts and outcomes
  • Answer compensation-related inquiries using knowledge base resources
  • Refer complex compensation issues to senior team members as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2–4 years of compensation experience
  • Proficient in Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs)
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret salary surveys and market trends
  • Experience supporting HRBPs and contributing to strategic pay decisions
  • HRIS background preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Schedule:

  • Standard business hours
  • In-office required on Wednesdays
