• Self-scheduling based on seniority

• Block Schedule: Not guaranteed, per unit need

• Weekend Requirement: Pending

• On-Call: Not required

• Floating: Not required

• Start Date: 07/14/2025

Important Note: Traveler must be open to all shift times and all start times. Specific shift requests cannot be accommodated.
Facility may call off one shift per two-week pay period.

Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a flexible and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join the CT imaging team at SMMC. This role involves conducting a wide variety of CT scans in both inpatient and outpatient settings using GE and Toshiba equipment. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled, collaborative, and comfortable working varying shifts based on department needs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform CT scans in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols

• Execute imaging procedures for the chest, head, neck, spine, musculoskeletal system, abdomen, pelvis, and vascular system

• Administer IV contrast media safely and accurately

• Ensure high-quality images are obtained and uploaded into PACS systems (Fuji Synapse preferred)

• Maintain compliance with all radiation safety protocols and infection control standards

• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to ensure patient care standards are met

• Provide patient-centered care, including preparing patients for exams and explaining procedures

Key Requirements

• Open to 3x12 or 4x12 shifts , based on operational needs

• Must be open to any shift start time

• Community hospital experience required

• First-time travelers accepted

• No call and no floating between units

• Must include all RTO at time of submission

• Pending license not accepted

• Locals accepted at same rate

Qualifications Education:

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a CT Technologist preferred (1 year required)

License & Certifications:

• ARRT (R) Required

• ARRT (CT) Required

• CA CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) Required

• CT Certification Required

• BLS Required

Skills CT Procedures:

• Abdomen & Pelvis (with and without contrast)

• Chest (CTA, PE protocols, calcium scoring, angiography*)

• Head & Neck (CT brain, orbits, sinus, with/without contrast)

• Spine & MSK (Cervical, thoracic, lumbar, trauma)

• Special Procedures: Aspirations*, Biopsies*, Drainage*, Brain Perfusion*, Coronary CTA*

• Vascular imaging (CTA chest, aorta)

Work Settings:

• Adult Acute Care

• Emergency Department

• Adult Outpatient

Equipment Proficiency:

• GE CT Scanners

• Toshiba CT Scanners

• PACS* (Fuji Synapse)

Professional Knowledge:

• Radiation Safety & ALARA principles

• Preparation & administration of contrast media

• Isolation precautions & PPE standards
