Job Description

W.C. Maloney is seeking a bridge demolition estimator to take the lead on some of California's most complex public infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Build detailed, from-scratch estimates for bridge demolition and structural removal projects
  • Interpret and apply Caltrans standard specifications and project-specific documents
  • Collaborate closely with PMs and superintendents to ensure seamless project handoff
  • Review incoming opportunities and assess project fit based on location, scale, and scope
  • Engage with public works portals and plan rooms to vet and select viable bid opportunities
  • Participate in estimate reviews and revisions with leadership
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools and workflows

Hard Skills

  • 10+ years of structural estimating experience, ideally with bridge demo focus
  • Experience in public works estimating, especially Caltrans or similar DOT specs
  • Fluent with WinBid or comparable takeoff and estimating software
  • Excel and MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Strong technical writing and bid documentation skills
