POSITION SUMMARY:

An OSP Engineer has a minimum of three years of relevant telecom work experience with a proven ability to work without close supervision to complete FTTx projects. This person is competent in CAD, GIS, reading field notes, field verifications, reviewing CAD designs, system data entry, and all related work for fiber engineering design. They provide guidance to other design team members; and assist other Engineers in completing final project design. May assist in advising construction teams, customer, utility, contractor, and offshore team member coordination.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Competent at OSP FTTx design engineering per customer specifications
• Perform & manage job flow from beginning to end, including coordination of contractor partners
• Provide detailed quality checking of job packages to assure highest satisfaction
• Perform or coordinate field visits to gather relevant design information
• Create and/or coordinate the creation of invoicing and job submission packages
• Work effectively with a team of drafting and design professionals, and able to positively interact with team members across functions
• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• None

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering is required
• Training in Outside Plant / FTTx engineering methods and procedures is required
• Functional knowledge and ongoing demonstrated aptitude to learn outside plant principals, work order procedures, and OSP record and/or computer aided drafting systems
• Proven ability and willingness to learn changing technology and processes including GIS
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
