Field Engineer - Heavy Civil Infrastructure

📍 Newark, NJ | 💼 Full-Time

💰 $110,000 – $160,000

(Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder)

A top civil contractor delivering major infrastructure across the NYC Metro area is seeking a Field Engineer to support complex public works projects . Based in Newark, NJ, this role offers hands-on field exposure and a clear path to leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review plans, develop schedules, and lead pre-construction planning
• Coordinate with subs on materials, contracts, and execution
• Oversee daily field operations and layout checks
• Manage RFIs, subcontracts, materials, and payments
• Track costs, report progress, and resolve site issues
• Support permitting, QA/QC, and close-out activities

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering
• 4+ years in civil construction (bridges, highways, tunnels, etc.)
• General contractor experience
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Office
• Familiar with OSHA and NYC Metro public projects
• Able to commute to New Rochelle or job sites

Preferred Traits:

• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Background in heavy civil infrastructure
• Stable job history (5–6+ years at one company ideal)
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to grow in the field
