Digestive Disease Consultants is a busy gastroenterology practice located in Altamonte Springs with satellite locations in Lake Mary and Oviedo. We are seeking dynamic, organized, and professional Certified Medical Assistants to join our team.

Qualifications:

• Must be up to date on certifications.
• Must be reliable.
• Possess strong attention to detail.
• Able to multi-task.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment as a team player.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as a liaison between physician and patient.
• Greeting patients and answering questions.
• Make patients feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit.
• Taking vitals, obtaining patient information, chart preparation, and data entry.
• Updating, recording, and filing medical information and forms.
• Scanning documents into EHR.
• Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and notifying patients of test results.
• Set up/clean exam rooms.
• Assisting doctors with simple office procedures.
• Prepping patients for rectal exams or chaperoning while the physician is performing a physical exam.
• Collecting and preparing specimens.
• Instruct patients about medications or special diets, and provide patient education.
• Arranging and providing clear instructions on procedures, imaging, labs, and any other physician instructions.
• Authorizing refills on prescriptions and contacting pharmacies.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications from the patient’s prescription insurance plan.
• Always maintain a neat appearance and professionalism.
• E-ClinicalWorks experience is a plus.

Hours:

• 20+ hours per week.
• Tuesday through Thursday.
• Hours would be 8am - 2pm with possibly additional hours as needed.
