Position: Outside Sales - Distributor/Contractor

Our client, a leading manufacturer's representative for lighting and controls, is looking to hire a dynamic and driven individual for the role of Outside Sales - Distributor/Contractor. The role requires an individual capable of growing sales within the Portland Distribution & Contractor Direct sales channels and developing strong relationships with customers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop relationships and increase sales with distribution and contractor customers.
• Operate both independently and within a team environment.
• Provide exceptional service and support to customers and manufacturers.
• Work with distributors and contractors to place products in stock and on projects.
• Stay informed about industry trends and new technologies.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including technical support, quotes, controls, and project management, to ensure proper product selection and smooth project execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience.
• Understanding of standard, industry-specific terminology.
• Ability to read and understand communications from vendors, manufacturers, and customers.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% - 30% to factories for training, often with customers.
