Barbera & Watkins, LLC is a boutique law firm in Overland Park, KS, specializing in business aviation law. Our firm provides legal services to clients across the aviation industry, focusing on aircraft acquisitions, sales and other transactions, as well as regulatory and tax matters.

We are seeking a full-time proactive and precise Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our team. This role is essential for supporting our fast-paced transaction work, managing critical documentation, and ensuring seamless office operations. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate due diligence processes, manage transaction checklists, and prepare final closing binders.
• Format, draft, and revise legal documents including contracts, forms, and various transaction checklists.
• Track document versions, signature pages, and critical deadlines to maintain compliance and organization.
• Manage communication flow by answering and transferring phone calls professionally.
• Schedule and organize internal and external calls and meetings efficiently.
• Organize and update records and files, both physical and electronic.

Qualifications

Applicant should:

• Have an Associate’s degree. We would prefer a Bachelor’s degree.
• Have excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Have proven accuracy, sound judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Have excellent time management skills and be able to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
• Be a quick learner who can effectively seek, obtain, and follow directions from supervising attorneys.
