Job Description

We are excited to announce that HIGHLY is opening our 8th adult use store in Portland, Maine! Are you a dedicated and experienced Retail Manager ? Do you have a background in cannabis? If the answer is YES, then we want to talk to you! The ideal candidate is professional, personable, and driven to succeed in all aspects of store operations. Retail managers work on site overseeing day-to-day operations such as managing retail staff, supervising and coordinating accurate inventory intakes, and launching product rollouts.

Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with all state regulations and laws, executing and enforcing company policies

- Maintain security protocols to prevent threats and product diversion

- Investigate inventory discrepancies, perform adjustments, and uphold employee accountability

- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory audits, verifying accuracy between physical stock and tracking system

- Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assist with updates as needed.

- Lead with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that reflects HIGHLY’s values and culture

- Uphold company standards, enforce policies, and maintain a positive work environment

- Train, develop, and mentor staff to deliver exceptional customer service

- Collaborating with the General Manager on staffing, customer experience, and disciplinary action

- Ensure proper shift coverage to maintain store operations, stepping into roles as needed

- Adapt to an evolving industry, including changes in staffing, laws, regulations, and policies

- Exhibit professionalism, tact, and a positive attitude in all responsibilities

- Provide administrative support, including scheduling, onboarding, and reporting

- Supervise employees to ensure performance goals are met

Requirements

  • 2-3 years’ Retail Management experience
  • Valid Individual Identification Card (or ability to obtain one) from the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy - more information can be found here:
  • Working knowledge of Cannabis industry including local and state laws and regulations for recreational cannabis in Maine
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Applications and Google Suite
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate inventory tracking and point of sale systems
  • Strong math skills, cash handling experience, and deposit auditing proficiency
  • Physical ability to perform retail management tasks, including extended periods of standing, sitting, typing, reading, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds and repetitive motions.
