Senior Design Engineer - Mechanisms.

Michigan - Full Time.

My client is looking for a Mechanism Design Engineer to contribute to a high-profile project with a multi-billion-dollar OEM. As a Mechanism Design Engineer you will play a crucial role in developing Closure Mechanisms & BIW Systems ensuring they are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and meet safety standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible to lead the design and development of weight efficient Mechanism and Closure designs to deliver the highest level of performance in NVH, durability, and crash performance from a blank page through to production.
• Develop a testing plan to prove out design concepts and conduct physical testing to confirm the design meets performance targets.
• Create and develop designs that are optimized for performance, weight, durability, and cost.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accumulated experience in vehicle body engineering
• Strong experience with CatiaV5, including drawing and modelling practices and methodologies
• Comprehensive understanding of system analysis, system interface, and integration knowledge and experience.
• Own, drive, and confirm your designs’ performance with help from CAE, manufacturing, and suppliers, fast paced hardware engineering department.
• Bachelors in engineering (minimum) with master's degree Preferred.
