As a Technical Manager/Sr. Manager, Private Equity, you will lead high-impact technology due diligence (TDD) engagements and support private equity clients across buy-side and sell-side transactions. This role requires strong technical depth combined with the ability to manage and guide teams in a fast-paced, private equity environment. You will evaluate IT systems, architecture, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data/AI environments, packaged software, and tech talent while advising deal teams on technology risk, integration strategies, and value-creation opportunities. You will also collaborate closely with the Practice Lead and partners to shape service offerings and support practice growth.
• BS or MS/MBA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field• Background as a software engineer, cybersecurity specialist, or infrastructure engineer
• Deep technical expertise in at least three of the six technical areas (Data & AI, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Custom Software, Packaged Software, Tech Talent)• High degree of organization with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive results across multiple projects• Demonstrated ability to exercise influence without direct authority, fostering collaboration across teams
• Experience conducting technology due diligence in M&A transactions; private equity exposure strongly preferred• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in high-volume, client-facing environments• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in business terms
• Lead technology due diligence engagements across private equity transactions• Assess strengths, risks, and scalability across six technical domains: Data & AI, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Custom Software, Packaged Software, and Tech Talent• Translate complex technical findings into business implications for investors and executives• Mentor and guide a team of consultants, ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple engagements• Partner with leadership on practice development, client relationship management, and new service offerings• Contribute to Cuesta’s collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, where every team member has visibility and impact
