Job Description

I am seeking a Telecom professional with utility and design experience to support engineering efforts tied to power and infrastructure networks -- contribute to design, drafting, standards compliance and field commissioning.

I am open to junior, mid-level and senior candidates (engineer, plant designer, planner): any experience with utilities, fiber optic design, microwave radio engineering, SCADA, Bluebeam and or Pathloss is great

Why is this role desirable

• Not always 8 to 5 and very interesting field work – unexpected challenges
• Some remote flexibility for more senior people

Day to Day

• Generate telecom network drafts (with Bluebeam) to send to a drafter
• Ensure compliance with telecom and utility-specific standards (NERC/SIP)
• Research and specify telecom equipment
• Coordinate with utility clients via calls and meetings
• Some in-field work (commissioning, testing, help field crews) in the Western United States

Knowledge

• Fiber, Land Mobile Radio (LMR), Microwave, SCADA, Bluebeam, Pathloss – let’s talk
• Design engineering experience is nice to have
• Channel design, line sharing, spectrum management, etc. is nice to have
