Belcan is looking for a Tig Welding Technician for one of our clients in Paris, IL.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, assemble and fusion weld various metal components using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), both manual and automatic.
- Demonstrate ability and skills to certify on all welding techniques for sheet, tube groove, and fillet welds in all base metal groups appropriate to product mix.
- Inspect weld quality to assure weld joints are of acceptable quality without blowouts, weld beads are consistent, accurate, and meet size and/or other applicable specification, and that proper weld techniques are being followed.
- Setup, adjust, and verify welding equipment, fixture, jog and machinery is functioning properly and meeting all appropriate specifications for task/operation.
- Measure and verify welded components meet specified blueprints, sketches and/or specifications using various measurement equipment necessary to task.
- Perform operations/tasks as specified on router.
- Dispose of weld rods properly in assigned waste cans.
- Apply 6s principles to all areas of the plant.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years college/technical school or three years related experience/training with proven skills preferred.
- Good cognitive skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to comprehend routers, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, operating instructions, manuals, specifications, correspondence.
- Problem solving skills, good judgement skills, good communication skills, basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Access to the facility (and, therefore, employment) is restricted under the International Traffic in Arms
Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents of the United States, and properly licensed foreign persons.
