Job Description
Waiter's job involves providing excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking food/drink orders, serving them efficiently, processing payments, and ensuring a clean, enjoyable dining environment, requiring strong communication, multitasking, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting. Key duties include menu knowledge, handling complaints, coordinating with kitchen staff, and maintaining cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
- Order Management : Take accurate orders (using POS systems), relay them to kitchen/bar, and serve food/drinks promptly.
- Table Service : Check on guest satisfaction, refill drinks, clear dirty dishes, and prepare tables for new guests.
- Payment Processing : Handle cash/card transactions accurately.
- Teamwork : Collaborate with kitchen, bar, and other staff for smooth operations.
- Environment : Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized dining area, following health/safety rules.
- Problem Solving : Address complaints and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Customer Interaction : Greet and seat customers, present menus, answer questions about dishes, and offer recommendations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience : Previous customer service or waiting experience preferred.
- Skills : Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, problem-solving, and teamwork.
- Attributes : Service-oriented, attentive, able to work under pressure, flexible with shifts (weekends/holidays).
- Education : High school diploma often required.
Work Environment:
- Setting : Restaurants, hotels, bars, clubs, resorts.
