POSITION SUMMARY:
Implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional programming in accordance with District policies and administrative guidelines, Florida Department of Education requirements, and provisions of State and Federal law.
Coordinate the development and implementation of appropriate behavior management techniques based on individual student functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
Model and assist with implementation of appropriate behavior management techniques based upon individual student behavior intervention plans and research-based practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Manifest a professional code of ethics and values at all times
Support activities designed to achieve priority goals identified through the District's strategic plan
Conduct initial Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), review current FBA's annually, and conduct updated FBA's on a three-year cycle
Write annual behavior intervention plans, monitor plan implementation and effectiveness for students, and assist in monitoring of graphical representation of student data to ensure student success
Collaborate with school staff and parents/guardians to provide research-based and/or peer-reviewed interventions
Consult with the transportation department with developing and implementing intervention strategies on the bus for students who are demonstrating disruptive behaviors while in route. Model intervention strategies by riding with students on the bus on an as needed basis
Provide direct support to students using ABA-based methodologies to enhance teacher instruction and student learning
Provide staff development opportunities for teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and other professionals in the development implementation, and tracking of structured behavior plans
Prepare appropriate parent/guardian notification, enter data on the use of advanced control procedures into the state reporting system (when indicated), and facilitate debriefing of school-based crisis teams in situations in which advanced control procedures are utilized
Actively working towards Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) certification and maintain trainer certification in District approved crisis intervention techniques
Assist Individual Education Plan (IEP) teams in the development of individualized social emotional goals and objectives that are observable, measurable, and can be successfully implemented at the school level
Maintain current knowledge of requirements associated with laws governing Individuals with Disabilities Education Act as it relates eligibility criteria, placement, service, and responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
~ Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution
Experience
~ Applicant must meet at least one of the following requirements:
~ Option 1 : Master's degree and accepted into a Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) approved course sequence for BCBA
~ Option 2 : Bachelor's degree and accepted into a BACB approved course sequence for BCaBA certification
~ Option 3 : Minimum of 2 years educational or ABA clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience that is deemed equal or superior to the forgoing requirements
Computer Skills
~ Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology, as required for the position
Certificates and/or Licenses
~ National certification in Behavior Analysis BCBA or BCaBA must be obtained within five years of the initial start date through coursework approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
