**Sheet Metal Mechanic**
**Pay: $51.85/Hour**
**Location: Seattle, WA**
**Shift: 7AM-3:30PM**
**Job Description**
As a Sheet Metal Mechanic, you will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal components on marine vessels. Your work will include building ventilation systems, bulkheads, lockers, furniture, and other structural elements. This role involves interpreting blueprints, operating hand and power tools, and ensuring all work adheres to strict accuracy and safety standards. You will be responsible for layout, cutting, bending, and joining metal, with a strong emphasis on precision and physical stamina for tasks in tight spaces and potentially strenuous environments.
**Responsibilities**
+ Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal components on ships and marine vessels.
+ Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
+ Operate hand and power tools, including shears, press brakes, and welding equipment.
+ Perform layout, cutting, bending, and joining of metal with precision.
+ Ensure all work meets strict accuracy, quality, and safety standards.
+ Work in tight spaces and physically demanding environments, maintaining stamina and focus.
+ Collaborate with other trades and departments to meet project deadlines.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication and installation.
+ Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
+ Experience with hand and power tools, such as shears, press brakes, and welding equipment.
+ Strong precision and accuracy in metal layout, cutting, bending, and joining.
+ Physical stamina to work in tight and strenuous environments.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in shipyard environments.
+ Familiarity with HVAC duct installation.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $51.85 - $51.85/hr.
